ISB Completes First Phase of Youth Festival ‘Tarang -2021’

Manama:The first phase of the Indian School Bahrain (ISB) youth festival Tarang 2021 has concluded with more than 500 students participating in individual competitions in Literary and Art categories. Following events were completed in the first phase: Poetry Writing, Essay Writing, Pencil Drawing and Painting. The programme was held online with level A,B, C and  D students participating virtually in various  competitions. The second phase will be organized after the summer holidays in September/October.
The ISB Youth Festival is  one of the largest in the entire Gulf countries. Tarang is notable for the huge participation of students in around 130 events which give tremendous opportunities for students  of all ages to showcase their talent in dance, art and music.
“The ISB decided to conduct the event online to kindle the spirit of togetherness and encourage students  to showcase their talents despite the difficult times. We have also taken a cue from recommendations in the National Education Policy that gives emphasis on the holistic development of children. It had suggested  easing out academic stress and incorporating co-curricular activities in mainstream education”, said ISB Hon. Chairman Prince S Natarajan.
ISB Hon. Secretary Saji Antony said “The students’ response to the events have been overwhelming. The participants have been enthusiastic and have helped us learn more about what we can do better since this was the first time we were putting together Tarang online.”
Principal VR Palaniswamy congratulated the students for their active participation in the Youth Festival and teachers for their leadership skills in coordinating the events.  The Indian School Bahrain has the strength of 11,500 students and the youth festival Tarang  is a much-awaited event in the school calendar.
