Manama:The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) organized the Virtual Academic Award Ceremony on September 16, 2021 to felicitate the school toppers of the CBSE class X and XII examination 2021. Around 100 toppers and high achievers of X and XII were honoured virtually with medals and certificates for their excellent performance in the academic year 2020-2021 at the ceremony held as per the COVID-19 guidelines at the school auditorium in Isa Town campus. Around 250 prizes were also distributed. The programme began with the national anthem of Bahrain and India and the lighting of the lamp.
Indian Ambassador Piyush Srivastava was the chief guest of the ceremony. ISB Hon. Chairman Prince S Natarajan, Hon. Secretary Saji Antony, Vice-Chairman Jayafar Maidani,EC Members Mohammad Khursheed Alam, Binu Mannil Varughese, Premalatha NS, Rajesh Nambiar, Saji George, Mohammad Nayaz Ullah, Indian Embassy Second Secretary Ravi Kumar Jain, Principal VR Palaniswamy, Staff Representative Johnson K Devassy, community leaders Mohammed Hussain Malim, PM Vipin, Vice- Principals, HoDs and Head Teachers attended the ceremony.
The gold medalists include Class XII school toppers Aaron Dominic Decosta(99%), Aditya Singh(99%), Meghana Gupta(98.4%), Nipuna Ashok(97.2%),Devadev Sujith Koottala(97.2%) and Class X school toppers Gughan Mettupalayam Sridhar(98.8%),Veena Kizhakkethil (98.6%), Manasa Mohan(97.6%) and Hima Prasobh(97.6%).
In his inaugural address online, Indian Ambassador Piyush Srivastava appreciated the excellent performance of the Indian School in academics and conveyed his best wishes, appreciating the hard work and dedication of students and staff in these challenging times of COVID-19. ‘The Indian School has been keeping their tradition of excellence. The School’s achievements are mind-blogging and the school is providing all-encompassing education to students besides academic brilliance which makes them global citizens’, the ambassador said.
ISB Hon. Chairman Prince S Natarajan in his presidential address said that the concerted efforts of the ISB academic team with the wholehearted support of the parents and teachers have culminated in the best ever academic performance of the students in the school in several years. The Indian School faculty have quickly adapted to the online teaching platform which is going on very well. Quoting Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, Prince Natarajan urged students to dream big. Dreams transform into thoughts and thoughts result in action. You cannot change your future, but you can change your habits, and surely your habits will change your future, he said.
Principal VR Palaniswamy who presented the milestone achievements of the CBSE results pointed out that the Indian School has been maintaining consistent academic excellence. He appreciated the hard work of the students, commitment of the teachers, cooperation of the parents and the support and guidance of the Executive Committee in bringing laurels to the school.
Hon. EC Member-Academics Mohammad Khursheed Alam in his felicitation address said that the dedicated efforts of the Indian School family has resulted in the fantastic and consistent performance of the students in academics.
ISB Hon. Secretary Saji Antony who proposed the vote of thanks said academic brilliance has always been an integral part of the school and the results prove that the combined efforts of the academic team and the relentless support of the parents helped the ISB to emerge as the centre of excellence.
