Leonardo eyes markets for defence technologies

Manama: Leonardo, one of major Italian-based defence technology companies, said it is keen to provide defence technologies to the Arabian Gulf countries.

Leonardo, taking part in the 10th anniversary Bahrain International Air Show (BIAS 2022), is highlighting high precision defence technology that received good response from possible buyers on day one of the show.

“I was here last time in 2018, the previous edition, and I can say that today is a much wider and very well-organized show,” Marco Buratti, Chief Commercial Office, Senior Vice President, Leonardo, told Bahrain News Agency (BNA).

“So, I see significant improvement with respect to the previous edition. Alongside other participants, Leonardo is attending the tenth edition of the Bahrain International Airshow, one of the most prestigious events in the civil and military aviation calendar and we are proud to be here. So, for us, he added, it is quite important to participate in this kind of show in Bahrain, which is one of the most important in the region.”

BIAS is one of the major platforms for a company like Leonardo to seek a certain number of contracts as well and to offer  services, he added.

“So, for us, a moment of discussions, listening to customers and presenting our latest technologies are especially important,” he said.

“We are not looking necessarily at signing contracts at this point of time, but we can see some contracts soon, especially the relationship we have across the region.”

He added that the company can provide complete and multi-mission platforms.
