A word on this day …Teachers’
Being a teacher, very passionate about teaching, trying to be the best in teaching …I observe and understand a lot on this profession. I don’t have any so-called amazing teachers in my memory as a student. Have I loved any? Not much, only the ones who might have shown kindness or love or care, nothing to do with the way they taught.
We are like quite robotic mostly in our Indian system of teaching. Either in a college or a school, our system is to finish the portions and enable students (not individual learner) to just memorize. By heart, recall, use the same words, use the same examples, and just present your memory in the paper. I can’t remember anything I have memorized as such from school…! HONESTLY
One of the blisses of pandemic would be, we jumped on a giant leap towards may be 2050, all on a sudden. Dramatic changes, superb transformation happened especially in the field of teaching only point here, “We won’t accept or change. As teachers……
How many out there see the faces, the drowsy eyes, in a classroom when you are delivering your lecture? Can you see the body movements of tiredness, boredom, and exhaustion? Why not stop your talks and your pace to complete chapter 3 or 4 and just talk about yoga, or Ukraine or even the new release of Avatar?
We can use oceanic resources now due to covid. like open a video so that we see the collapse of USSR. We can listen to chats and mind matters. Do an online immediate quiz as we all together and enjoy… A lot are here at your touch.
I am dead against of rote learning, I might as my student to present a topic on nuclear power instead the next day.
Change. Adapt…invent…enjoy
