Bahrain : The global expansion of BRAVE Combat Federation as a major mixed martial arts (MMA) organization has been unrivaled for the last five years. Since its inaugural card in 2016, the Bahrain-based outfit has held 55 live events in five continents and has visited 24 different countries—nine of which are European nations such as Northern Ireland, England, Sweden, Russia, Slovenia, Romania, Belarus, Italy and Poland. The promotion will be breaking new ground on December 18, widening its footprint in the continent. BRAVE CF 56 will be held in the Serbian capital city of Belgrade in association with MMA League of Serbia.Like in most European nations, football is widely popular in the country with 146,845 registered players per the data released by the Football Association of Serbia. Meanwhile, basketball comes in as a close second, having won two FIBA World Championships and producing a total of 31 Serbian cagers to have played in the NBA.
In MMA, Serbia still sees the sport in its early days. It’s no news for BRAVE CF, who has successfully helped bring a new era for mixed martial arts in other territories and is confident the same blueprint will be applied to the Serbian territory.
BRAVE CF 56 has the potential to kickstart a revolution for MMA in the country, with some of its biggest local stars testing themselves on a global stage with top international fighters.
But as far as combat sports such as MMA are concerned, it has not caught on yet. All that could change this coming December as BRAVE CF is set to become the first international promotion to ever venture on Serbian soil.
As it stands, no bouts have been announced yet for BRAVE CF 56, but official confirmation is expected to be released in the coming days.
