Italy:Amateur world champion Gamzat Magomedov has been on a steady rise since turning pro, constructing a very respectable 5-1 record, with his only loss coming in a disputable disqualification against JP Buys. However, his next opponent can catapult his career like no other before him. Magomedov is set to take on reigning BRAVE Combat Federation Breakout Fighter of The Year Mochamed Machaev, at BRAVE CF 52, in association with The Golden Cage, on August 1st, in Milan, Italy.
And Gamzat is confident he has what it takes to beat Machaev, who became the only fighter to win three fights in the calendar year of 2020, a feat that earned him the Breakout Fighter award. Now ‘’The Beast’’ will drop down to Bantamweight to face off against Gamzat, who promises to have a surprise for him.
‘’I believe that I have the skills and abilities to defeat my opponent. I’m working every day with a striking coach, we prepare specifically for my opponent. We also work with a grappling trainer. I have prepared some surprises for Mochamed. When I was offered a fight with Mochamed Machaev, I was very happy. If I can beat him, I will rise in the rankings, become a contender and BRAVE CF can give me a fight for the belt’’, said Magomedov, who is not fazed by the underdog tag coming into the fight against Machaev.
‘’It makes no difference to me that someone considers me an underdog in this fight. The main thing is that I will show everything in the cage, who is the favorite and who is the underdog’’.
Magomedov vs Machaev will take place at a star-studded BRAVE CF 52: Bad Blood which will be headlined by a grudge match for the vacant Light Heavyweight title. Reigning Middleweight champion Mohammad Fakhreddine goes up in weight to face off against arch-enemy Mohamed Said Maalem, while Italian sensation Enrico Cortese takes on Rustam Chsiev.
