Bahrain : Director-General of Traffic Brigadier Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Abdulwahab Al Khalifa asserted that the participation of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the Arab Traffic Week from 4- 10 May every year, came in line with the Arab partnership principle to enhance traffic awareness, abide traffic rules and save lives and property. He pointed out to the importance of creating a traffic culture among all age groups as this year’s theme is “ traffic rules civilised behaviours”. In this regard, The General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers confirmed, through a speech delivered by His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Ali Koman, Secretary General of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, on the occasion of the Arab Traffic Week 2023, that the celebration of the Arab Traffic Week was under the theme “Traffic Rules Civilised Behaviour”, and in order to implement it, traffic signals, rules and regulations, vehicles and pedestrians must all be respected. It is necessary to continue the awareness-raising process for all road users (drivers, passengers, or pedestrians), and to remind them to adhere to traffic rules and ethics and implement traffic laws, rules and regulations. In addition to avoiding behaviors of negligence and failure to use seat belts, lack of attention and avoiding the use of mobile phones while driving, which contributes effectively to reducing the risk of injuries.
