
The activities included PowerPoint presentations, Arabic storytelling, poem recitation,essay writing video clips about the historical development of the Arabic language and defining countries speaking the Arabic language on the world map.
As a part of its role to promote multilingualism and cultural diversity, UNESCO has chosen December 18 as the World Arabic Language Day, as it is the day on which the UN General Assembly approved the Arabic language as one of the UN’s six official languages in 1973.
The rich diversity of Arabic Language, its strong bonds with various forms of cultural expressions and its significant role in connecting people and promoting dialogue were showcased as part of the celebrations , along with presentations on using Arabic language and calligraphy.
ISB Hon. Chairman Prince S Natarajan, Hon.Secretary Saji Antony and Principal VR Palaniswamy congratulated the students on their active participation in the programme and the teachers for coordinating the celebrations.
