Manama:The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) is gearing up for ISB Community Sports Fest 2023 under the patronage of the Indian Embassy in Bahrain. Indian Ambassador HE Piyush Srivastava will inaugurate the Community Sports Fest in the ISB Isa Town campus Jashanmal Auditorium at 9 am on Saturday, May 13,2023. ISB Community Sports Fest 2023 is held in celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav which is an initiative of the Government of India to commemorate the 75 years of independence and the glorious history of its people, culture, and achievements. The sports fest is also held in celebration of the 50 years of diplomatic relations between India and the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The Indian School will organize a plethora of activities as part of the Sports Fest. The Fest will begin with the Chathuranga (Chess) Sports Tournament with the support of Arjun’s Chess Academy from May 13 to 15,2023. Other sports events which include Badminton, Table Tennis, Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Tug of War, Kabaddi and Athletics are held expecting the enthusiastic support and participation of the Indian School parents and Indian community members in addition to various schools in the Kingdom. These sports events will be held in the coming weeks. Indian School officials said community sports fest creates a culture of wellness and boosts the camaraderie among the community.
The Chess tournament will consist of four competitions over three days, including the Open Rapid Chess Tournament on May 13 at 8:30 am, the Under-16 Tournament on May 13 at 4:30 pm, Women’s Tournament on May 14 at 6:00 pm, and the Under-10 Tournament on May 15 at 6:00 pm.
