Manama:The Indian School Junior Wing honoured more than 500 students for their brilliant academic performance at the Academic Award Ceremony on Friday. The gala event was a testimony of how the blooming buds of the school could keep up the pace in academics along with co-curricular activities. The young scholars’ award ceremony was held at the Jashanmal auditorium. Amad Group of Companies Founder and Managing Director Pambavasan Nair was the chief guest. ISB Hon. Chairman Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese, Hon. Secretary V Rajapandian, Hon.Vice-Chairman Dr Mohammed Faizal, Hon. Asst. Secretary & Member -Academics Ranjini Mohan, Hon. Member Biju George, Principal VR Palaniswamy, Junior Wing Principal Pamela Xavier, Staff Representative Parvathi Devadas and Vice-Principals attended the ceremony. Pambavasan Nair along with other dignitaries awarded the certificates of merit to the students of class 2 and 3 who had excelled in the academic arena in 2023-2024. They appreciated the teachers and parents whose hard work paved the way for the whopping number of students to achieve merits in the academic field. The school band and Scouts and Guides welcomed the dignitaries and community leaders to the venue.
Pamela Xavier welcomed the gathering and lauded the achievements of the award recipients. The lighting of the lamp was followed by the address by Pambavasan Nair, a philanthropist as well as a former parent of the ISB. He advised the tiny tots that this is the age to do wonders and that it was the beginning of the path to excellence for these junior scholars. It was indeed a moment of pride for the ISB when the chief guest talked about his personal experience as a parent. He recalled his daughter’s formative years at the ISB which had shaped her personality and helped her to reach her goals. Hon.Chairman Adv.Binu Mannil Varughese in his presidential address said the achievement of the students is a testament to the school’s collaborative spirit, and unwavering commitment to excellence. Earlier the programme started with the national anthems, school song and the recital from the holy Quran. Hon. Secretary V Rajapandian gave vote of thanks.
The theme ‘Savour the Flavour’ highlighting the importance of food and its various flavours was reflected in the vibrant dances and songs performed by the little ones. What added more colour to the ceremony was the musical extravaganza Tutty Fruity Delight and the Desi Tadka to which the little ones tapped their feet and enchanted the crowd. A dance tribute paid to the farmers – a reason why we have adequate food on our tables- and Arabic dance were other highlights of the evening. More than 200 students in colourful costumes captivated everyone with their performance at the ceremony piloted by the young anchors who steered the programme with ease and confidence.
ISB Hon.Chairman Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese, Hon.
