ISB Students Present Innovative Science Projects

Manama: Promoting inquisitiveness among the school students and inculcating scientific temper among them, the Indian School Bahrain(ISB)  Science Club conducted its inaugural meeting  on Microsoft Teams on June 28,2021. The Science Club members   presented spectacular projects   and explained the working of every project in a well-organized manner. Sayooj Tharammal Keeri,a grade VIII student, presented a vacuum cleaner which he made from recycled plastic bottles.  Janani M,a grade VIII student, has a project which shows how domestic waste water can be purified for reuse.  Fathima,a class VI student, presented a solar cooker. Jeevitha of Class VII presented a paper on solar energy. Following are the students who lead the Science Club: Janani M(President), Sahana M(Vice-President),Deekshith Krishna (Secretary) and Muhammed  Shamaas (Event Planner). During the summer vacation the club has planned science related activities promoting scientific temper in young minds.

The ISB Science Club meeting  was  presided  by Middle Section  Head Teacher Parvathy Devadas. The masters of ceremony were students of grade 8, Sahana and Rudra. Middle Section Vice-Principal Vinod S inaugurated the  Science Club. Sudipto Sengupta, Head of Physics Department, explained the aim of the science club with a PowerPoint presentation. Sudeepa Ghosh, Head of the Department of Biology gave a felicitation address. The  Heads of various  Departments,  coordinators, teachers, and students made the event very lively and filled the ceremony with positive vibes.
“The Science Club aims to develop students’ interest in science and to introduce them to a variety of scientific disciplines and to develop their skills in fieldwork, research and project presentations”,said ISB Hon. Chairman Prince S Natarajan in his message. 

Hon.Secretary Saji Antony said the Club would improve scientific attitude and provide opportunities for practice in scientific method.
Principal VR Palaniswamy congratulated the students on their active participation in the club activities and appreciated the teachers for motivating the students.
