Bahrain : The Embassy of India organised the Open House on 30 September 2022 between 09:30 Hrs to 11:00 Hrs, during which Ambassador Piyush Srivastava interacted with the Indian community for redressing their urgent/non-routine consular and labour issues.
Ambassador started the event by wishing Onam, Navaratri, Dusshera and Eid-ul-Milad greetings to the Indian community members present.
The Open House platform allows people to directly address Ambassador about their problems, thus allowing the pending cases to be resolved sooner. Most of the cases which were raised in the last open house have been successfully resolved, including case of repatriation of one stretcher patient. The Embassy continued assistance in providing Emergency certificates and tickets to distressed people through ICWF.
Ambassador also briefed on the Teacher’s day and Hindi Divas celebrations which were organized at the Embassy premises in this month.
Ambassador expressed his gratitude to the local government authorities including Labour Market Regularity Authority (LMRA) and Immigration authorities, as well as appreciation to Indian associations including ICRF, Indian Club, World NRI Council, Budaiya Gurudwara, & Gujrati Samaj for their support and assistance in resolving a number of issues concerning our community members. Ambassador also expresses happiness that Ms. Radhika, stretcher patient could travel back to India for further treatment.
Ambassador urged the Community members to follow up and disseminate the latest travel advisories issued by the Ministry of Interior, Kingdom of Bahrain and Bahrain Airports Company for all visit visa holders arriving in Bahrain.
Ambassador also briefed the community members about forward movement in other consular matters in collaboration with the Government of Bahrain authorities, as well as about inclusion of IVS also in the Embassy’s appointment app EoIBh CONNECT which will be launched another week.
It was a productive interactive session. The grievances/issues of the Indian Community were successfully addressed; some resolved at the open house, while others will be taken up at the earliest possible.
