Bahrain- His Holiness Moran Mar Baselious Marthoma Mathews III, will arrive on 06th October 2022, for his 5 days debut visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, after he is ordained as the Supreme head of the Indian Orthodox Church.His Holiness was enthroned as the Catholicos of the East & Malankara Metropolitan (the Supreme Head of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church of India) on Friday, 15th October 2021. His Holiness is the 92nd Primate on the Apostolic Throne of St. Thomas.the Bahrain ‘St. Mary’s Indian Orthodox Cathedral’, had an amazing and glorious past and is the work of the Lord through his people from as early as 1938. It is the crop of the great aspirations and the dedicated endeavors of the Malankara Orthodox Church members who came to the Kingdom of Bahrain in early 19th Century. The land of the First Church is donated by His Highness Late Sh. Isa Bin Salman Al Khalifa and further land for the extension is donated by the King His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa.it is with immense pleasure, we, the members of St. Mary’s Indian Orthodox Cathedral look forward to the maiden visit of His Holiness Baselios Marthoma Mathews III after the enthronement as the Supreme Head of the Malankara Orthodox Indian Church to the Island of Pearls. His Holiness is a philanthropist, an individual with inspiring thoughts and has numerous on-going social work projects in India, touching many lives from all walks of the society. His Holiness will lead 64th Cathedral perunnaal which will be held 6th October 2022 to 9th October 2022. The Renovated Church building is painted with Orthodox Iconography art, which will be also blessed by His Holiness.
