Bahrain : The Embassy of India organised the Open House in virtual format on 25
June 2021 between 10:00 hrs to 12:00 hrs, during which Ambassador Piyush
Srivastava directly interacted with the Indian community members, particularly
skilled and semi-skilled workers and distressed Indian nationals, for redressing
their urgent/non-routine consular and labour issues.
Ambassador thanked the Leadership and Government of Kingdom of
Bahrain for continuously taking care of welfare of the large Indian community in
Bahrain. He expressed gratitude to the Bahraini authorities for providing free
COVID vaccination to the expats and citizens alike.
Ambassador encouraged the community members to follow Kingdom’s
COVID advisory and protocols, as well as to get vaccinated to support Kingdom’s
efforts in fighting pandemic as well as for their own safety. Ambassador also
called upon the community members, who are facing any kind of problems in
registering for vaccination, to register with the Embassy at the following link:

Ambassador also briefed community members on improving COVID
situation in India, including significant reduction in daily infection rates (to little
over 50000 now) as well as Government of India’s aggressive vaccination drive
(in the range of 6-8 million daily).
Ambassador thanked all Indian associations in their support as well as
community members for their active participation in various events organised
for International Day of Yoga 2021 celebrations in the virtual mode.
With the Embassy’s active intervention and the support of concern Indian
associations, almost 1500 Indian nationals enroute Saudi Arabia, who were
stuck in Bahrain, have now travelled to Saudi Arabia. Also six (6) Indian
Seafarers who were stranded for more than 24 hours at Bahrain International
Airport on their transit while travelling back from Karachi to Cochin were
repatriated safely to their destination.
Ambassador re-assured the community members that the Embassy, in
close coordination with Indian associations, is ensuring that the needy and
distressed Indian nationals are provided with the basic amenities including food,
accommodation and safe repatriation etc.
It was a productive interactive session. The grievances/issues of the Indian
community were successfully addressed; some resolved at the open house, while
others will be taken up at the earliest possible. Ambassador thanked all the
Indian associations and community members for their active participation in the
open house.
