Bahrain : The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) announced the trial run of its Remote Virtual Inspection Services (RVI), as part of its plans to expand the provision of electronic services. The service comes in line with the process of digital transformation of government services, and re-engineering workflow procedures to benefit from technological developments to save time and effort for clients.Nibras Mohammed Talib, LMRA CEO, affirmed that the LMRA is continuing to develop all its procedures to streamline services, noting that the new service will be officially launched at the end of this year.Noora Isa Mubarak, LMRA’s Acting Deputy Chief Executive for Enforcement and Protection, said that the virtual inspection service, which aims to reduce the waiting period for inspection visits to lift administrative violations by 60%, will contribute to accelerating the pace of lifting administrative violations and the return of institutions to work in a regular manner. She noted that more than 200 virtual inspection visits have so far been conducted during the trial period. To use the virtual inspection service and submit the administrative notes included in the commercial registration, employers are required to submit the violation removal request via the electronic support system “E-Support” in order to schedule the call. They will then receive a virtual visit link via email. The service will enable LMRA’s judicial control officer to communicate with the employer via video call to verify compliance and correct the facility’s situation directly. The service requires the employer to provide a device equipped with a camera (computer, smartphone, tablet), connected to a stable Internet connection, and download the Zoom application on the device used, within the specified appointment time.
