Bahrain : His Excellency, Ambassador Sri Piyush Srivastava joined the Indian Community Relief Fund (ICRF) Thirst-Quenchers 2021 team in distributing bottled water and fruits to around 90 workers in Busaiteen area. Today’s event also marked the celebration of India’s 75th Independence Day with the workers by giving them lunch boxes. The event which was organised following COVID-19 protocol was also attended by His Excellency Mr Ahmed Al Hayki – Under-Secretary of Labour Affairs, Ministry of Labour & Social Development, Mr Hussain Al Hussaini – Safety & Guidance Head at the Ministry of Labour & Social Development, Mr Ravishankar Shukhla – Second Secretary at the Indian Embassy, Mr Aqeel Yusuf AlGhana – Managing Director Al Ghana Group, ICRF Chairman Dr Babu Ramachandran, Vice Chairman Adv. V K Thomas, Ex-Officio/Advisor Aruldas Thomas, Advisor Bhagwan Asarpota, General Secretary Pankaj Nallur, Treasurer Mani Lakshmanamoorthy, Thirst Quenchers Coordinator Sudhir Thirunilath, Volunteers Nishan Rangarajan, Rakesh Sharma, Murali Krishna, Raman Preet, Zulfiqar Ali and Jose E Joseph – HR Manager at Al Ghanah group.
This is the sixth week of the annual summer special program of ICRF Thirst-Quenchers 2021 and the basic purpose of such activity is to teach workers the importance of drinking water and encourage them on how to be healthy during the summer. The program is supported by Bohra community in Bahrain.
Additionally, ICRF volunteers have distributed reusable face masks and anti-bacterial soaps along with flyers that explain the measures that can be followed to stay safe during COVID-19 as well as flyers on mental well being.
ICRF Thirst-Quenchers intends to continue this for few more weeks in various worksites as they are one of the most affected toiling under the summer heat.
