Indian School successfully hosts NEET UG 2022 exam in Bahrain

Manama:National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2022, a prestigious exam conducted by the National Testing Agency, Government of India, was successfully held as per the guidelines at the Indian School Bahrain (ISB) on Sunday, July 17,2022. This was the first ever NEET UG exam conducted in Bahrain with the ISB as the only centre chosen in the Kingdom.   Around 128 candidates had opted for Manama, Bahrain as the examination centre for the NEET UG 2022 exam and 123 candidates appeared for the exam which was held in pen and paper mode from 11.30 am to 2.50pm at the Indian School Isa Town. Though the NEET was conducted in the middle of the summer holidays, the Indian School staff and administrative team had made all the arrangements meticulously as per the guidelines of the National Testing Agency (NTA).
The exam was conducted under the direct supervision of the Indian Embassy in Bahrain with the Embassy Second Secretary  Ravikumar Jain overseeing the entire pre-exam preparations, exam conduct and post exam arrangements. ISB Principal VR Palaniswamy was the City Coordinator and the Centre Superintendent to synchronise and ensure the fair conduct of the NEET exam.
The NTA had conducted a series of orientation sessions and briefings for the observers, coordinators, centre superintendents and invigilators who were alert and careful in following the instructions. The NTA officials were available all days running up to the exam. Around 25 teaching and non-teaching staff were involved in the smooth conduct of the examination at the school.
ISB Hon. Chairman Prince S Natarajan expressed his happiness on the successful completion of the first ever NEET exam at the Indian School Bahrain which is one of the prime centres in the Gulf for India’s   National Eligibility Entrance test 2022.’ I’m thankful to the National Testing Agency and the Indian Embassy for considering the Indian School Bahrain as the centre of the exam which is indeed an honour for the reputation of the ISB.’
ISB Hon. Secretary Saji Antony said: ‘I’m happy and proud that the Indian School Bahrain was designated as the first ever centre for the conduct of NEET exam as the exam venue was ideal due to its strategic location and eminence.’
EC Member-Academics Mohammad Khursheed Alam said the Indian School had selected and trained the faculty and administrative staff which resulted in the smooth conduct of this professional medical entrance exam.
Hon.EC Members appreciated successful completion of the exam with the embassy officials closely monitoring the arrangements adhering with the health and safety protocols.
Principal VR Palaniswamy said it was an excellent learning experience for the school as it was a great honour to be part of the NEET UG 2022 which is a prestigious examination conducted by India’s National Testing Agency.
In view of the current situations, it would have been extremely difficult for students from Bahrain to travel to India and physically appear for this entrance test. Now, with the Indian School officially named as a test centre, students in Bahrain are able to appear for the test without having to travel to India.
